Cricket Toronto

It's 11am. A nervy, helmetless opener has taken a middle and leg guard. The strip has a tinge of green, but looks like a beauty, especially if one may hang around for an hour. The umpire has thrown a new cherry to the worrisome quick at the Pavilion End, who is now scratting at the turf with his left pin, like a thoroughbred out to prove a point. The old man leans forward to inform the bat that the scary guy behind him bowls right arm over, and seems to say 'Good luck,' without actually letting a word pass his lips. The batsman checks the field one last time, as he hears the word 'Play!'

'PLAY!'

And so, here I go into the unknown. I refer to the arena of the blog. I have written for other blogs, including CTV and The Score, but I have not started nor managed them myself. This really could have read 'Testing Testing One Two Three.'

So, please watch this space, as I fumble my way around the technology with the aim of bringing to Toronto a proper cricket blog and a forum to ignite discussion but unite passions.

Cheers, Ian
